  1. That is the careful line we walk. As women of the church, we are specially made by God to be gentle and nurturing. We are uniquely equipped to minister to the sick and the hurting. I pray that we will learn our lessons on how best to do that from our sisters in Christ rather than our brothers. We can learn our doctrine from our brothers, but our work cannot be preaching and admonishment. We must teach by example and spend countless hours praying for the sick among us. As women, we are quieter and softer than our brothers, but we are not without power, and I believe that this power is more greatly manifest in quiet servitude than in noisy preaching. You are correct. A focus on the self is the root of so many sicknesses and it is sin that should be confessed and repented of. How we show that sin to be sin, without bashing someone with the Bible, is our challenge. Telling the truth in love . . . a high calling for all of us!

  2. Thank you for you response. I am just awaking from a 3 year period of backsliding and silence. I never denied Jesus Christ but i voluntarily kept myself from feeling because my life was in upheaval.

Now that I am obedient to Him, I have a renewed vigor for His word. That passion sometimes is not tempered by wisdom.

Throughout my life I have struggled as a woman because of past issues. I am learning that i need to pray sometimes moment by moment about His glory being manifested and dying to self. It is a balancing act because praying about dying to can be focusing on self again.

I no longer have brothers and sisters in Christ to lean upon for prayer and fellowship so blogging is what I do. At any rate, I thank you for responding and gently correcting me.
